Professional Conduct Seminar

Join us for a Professional Conduct Seminar this December at The Boat House. This course has been submitted to the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 3.0 total CLE credit hours, with Attorney Professional Conduct Instruction, but has not yet been approved.

We will be joined by guest speakers Frank Ray, Esq. of Frank A. Ray Co., LPA and Laura Valentino, MSW, LISW-S of Ohio Lawyers Assistance Program, Inc.

Mr. Ray will discuss challenges and methods for trial lawyers to blend and exude professional behavior with effective advocacy. Using real-world examples to advance the theme of this presentation, the speaker will identify and describe aspirational conduct befitting the professional role of the trial lawyer in the American civil justice system. Mr. Ray will offer thoughts on the enhancement of a litigator’s professional reputation by consistent projection of exemplary civil conduct toward judges, attorneys, court personnel, parties to civil disputes, and witnesses. Laura Valentino’s presentation offers a deep understanding of secondary trauma, focusing on its nuances and effects on attorneys. Attendees will gain insights into the emotional and psychological impacts of prolonged exposure to clients’ trauma and explore practical coping strategies and self-care techniques to mitigate these effects.
