During this annual Membership Luncheon, the Swearing In Ceremony of our 2024-25 Officers and Directors took place, past Presidents were recognized during the Changing of the Guard Ceremony, and annual awards were presented.
Pete Friedmann presented two COAJ scholarships to Capital University Law School student, Montana MacDonald and The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law Student, Colin Adler. Kay Brewer had the honor of presenting the Outstanding Legislator Award to Ohio House of Representatives member, Dr. Beth Liston as well as the George E. Tyack Award to the Honorable C. Kathryn Preston. Kyle Barger with “Make-A-Day” was the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Citizen Award, presented by incoming President, Chelsea Long. Courtney Wright, Bailiff to Judge David Young received the Norma J. Mitchell Award from Liz Mote.
The Honorable Elizabeth Gill presided over the Swearing In Ceremony of Mark Troutman as Treasurer, and Directors John Markus and Geoff Jones. Incoming Vice President Will Nesbitt was unable to attend. Judge Gill also presided over the Swearing In Ceremony of Chelsea Long, Esq. as the 2024-2025 President.
Outgoing President Pete Friedmann presented incoming President Chelsea Long with the gavel, and Chelsea presented Pete with the President’s Plaque. The luncheon ended with closing remarks from incoming President Chelsea Long.
